photo below is not the actual hotel, just setting my "Greek Scene"

I suppose I have many talents and gifts, one of which may be irrelevant to everyone but me, in that I have never failed to pick a perfect vacation spot for myself. I can look at vacation spots on internet websites and brochures, and tell who is the real deal, and who is a "Carnival Cruise gone bad".

Whenever I walk into my hotel room....or say I say "hotel suite" when I vacation, I never say, "This is just as I pictured it". I always find myself saying "The pictures did not do this place justice". My jaw is always dropping, eyes wide open, senses heightened, anticipating a few days off of the "front lines" on the war to struggle to survive in the "Rat Race".

Next up in the cross-hairs of my "Dream Vacation Sniper's Scope" the San Giorgio Hotel, Mykonos Island, Greece. Albeit my true personality is super modern, contemporary, a part of my psyche has a thing for rustic old world laid back charm. I don't need much when I vacation, just lovely scenery, lovely accommodations, lovely ambiance, and although I prefer to travel solo, maybe this time, a lovely lady?

There is this this lady, she doesn't know it yet, but I might have to fly her over there with me. Come on fellas, what's the point of being a guy if you can't whisk a woman away to some exotic destination at some point in your life? She's so easy going and "earthy", so warm hearted, and so drama free, I could soooooo get up into the zone with her. I know there's a hammock at the San Giorgio with our names written on it.

Maybe my vacations always satisfy because, beyond the above mentioned luxuries, I don't need much......just "a little bread, a little cheese, a little wine". You feel me.

I expect my travelers cooking show for this Blog to be in full throttle in late fall when I expect to take this trip, and I checked the menu over at The San Giorgio Hotel, and I think they got something that maybe I can bribe the Cook into letting me prepare for this super cool lady.

Whether the Cook lets me help or not is cool, I can at least film the food prep for my cooking show. So, no harm in "Wanderlusting" about this amazing meal at an amazing destination in the romantic Greek Isles, no doubt for the first romantic dinner we're gonna order (and hopefully prepare myself) is gonna be Souvlaki Arnisio (Greek Lamb Kebabs).

I never think twice about dropping bigs bucks for the best vacation, maybe the following will explain why........

The perfect line to finish up this post came to my head, perfect in that I didn't realize until after I decided to use it, that it actually came from some Greeks. It was a line I heard in that gritty HBO series "The Wire", and albeit a dialogue between two Greek smugglers working at the docks, one of them made the perfect point.

The younger one was very "high-strung" about their illegal activity. The other one was an older, traditional "old world" Greek guy, who was trying to get the high strung guy to relax a little bit and think about enjoying life. The older guy told the high-strung guy:

"You should take some of that money and buy your wife a nice coat, nice car, or take nice vacation............that's why we get up in the morning"
