[next 4 food photos below] Four Easy, Protein Packed Bento Boxes (more info further down)
I have to take little blogger’s “creative license”, because this secluded crib is actually outside of Tokyo, about 90 miles away…
…but I wasn’t feeling all the other cribs I saw in the hustle and bustle of crowded Tokyo, this is more my groove, a cool spot for some “alone time”.
But anyhoo, Americans are starting to get into the Bento Box craze that originated in the Far East, but they are no longer just for schoolkids.
They work for adults also, especially for those who wanna eat healthier by preparing all their lunches and/or meals for the entire week all at once.
It really works! I do it on a Sunday while I’m watching a football game, and in an hour or so, I’m good for the whole week!!!
Here are some ideas that can get you going, but remember, there are no rules, except for filling your Bento Boxes with your fav’ healthy/tasty ingredients…

about the crib….
The villa is located in a forest in Karuizawa, Nagano prefecture of Japan. The privately owned villa is designed to accommodate its owner and their friends in the rich natural environment at a mountain retreat 150km away from Tokyo.
In order to acquire specific natural scenery and light environment, each living function faces its own desired orientation. Living and dining space faces south-east for a brighter living environment while master bedroom and bathroom faces west offering private scenery of the forest.
These living functions are assembled into 3 interconnected volumes that are placed on site among the pre-existing trees. Roofs were designed as curved surface like a gently twisted leaves. Combination of a concave and a convex roof configures from a high ceiling’s expansive space to an introverted compact space.
Every roof was designed as a Ruled Surface in which straight LVL joists were arranged continuously to form an organic geometry. Series of wooden joists are exposed on the ceiling highlighting its dynamic spatial characters of each living space.
The design process that responds to its environmental context produced multiple organic roofs and established architecture as an aggregate of diverse living spaces. Appearance of the villa blends in harmoniously with the natural surroundings and perfectly integrated to the local landscape.

Happy Sunday Doug, the house is fantastic, and the Bento Boxes look yummy. Going to give them a try. Stay Safe!
Hi Ms. Lory,
I always appreciate “repeat customers”, who stop by my site more than once.
That Bento Box concept really works for people trying to prepare healthy meals and stay on track with good nutrition. As I mentioned somewhere in the post, I’ll buy a whole rotisserie chicken from Whole Foods, cook a pot of brown rice, cut up some veggies, boil some eggs, prep some fruits like strawberries, all while I’m watching a football game.
My only problem is that Rotisserie Chicken is so good, I’ll eat one of the wings or drumsticks, then lose control and devour half the chicken right there, LOL!!!. Nonetheless, then I end up with a stack of these things in my fridge for the week, so, when it’s time to run out to work, I just grab one out the fridge.
In reality, you now see a lot of companies delivering your meals for the week to your house, they are basically doing the same thing….
Anyhooze, stay safe out here, thanks for reading and commenting…
