“Dressed to Grill”… Sophisticated Skewers (Part 10)

MADE IT THROUGH ANOTHER WINTER !!! The first real snowstorm ever up here in Seattle for one week, but otherwise, not so bad of a winter….. [next 4 food photos] Grilled Chili Honey Lime Chicken Skewers (more info further down…) But, I still hate winter, and been missing the outdoor grills right outside my door on my terrace, in my apartment building…..

Got a new batch of skewers to try this summer and to share in my online cookbook…..

And, for all HGTV lovers just like me, you know I'm gonna bring it with some "Home Design Porn", that being, another custom outdoor kitchen….. ……outfitted by Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet, this one in Rye, New York….

[below] Greek Lemon Chicken Bowls with Sizzled mint Goddess Sauce The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": With organic ingredients and a Pasture Raised Chicken from Whole Foods, a pretty healthy recipe. The only issue for me is trying to find grass fed dairy Greek Yogurt, but that's me 🙂 (click photo below for recipe) [below] Mojito Fisk Skewers The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": If you're swapping a different fish than in the recipe, I'd suggest sustainably sourced Chilean Sea Bass (Whole Foods has it). Very thick and "meaty", works well on the grill, awesome taste!!! Remember when grilling fish on the grill over lemon slices so fish doesn't stick to grate. (click photo below for recipe) [below] Grilled Steak Skewers with Scallion Sauce The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": Pertaining to the Brown Sugar in the Recipe, a healthy alternative would be Healthy Coconut Palm Sugar (they taste about the same). I avoid commercial beef like the plague and stick with Grass Fed Beef (Whole Foods has it). (click photo below for recipe) [below] Grilled Tarragon-Mustard Chicken Skewers The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": Once Again, with a pasture raised chicken from Whole Foods and all organic ingredients this recipe is just about 5 star healthy as it it!!!! (click photo below for recipe) [below] Lemon Garlic Shrimp Skewers The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": Wild caught shrimp is very low in mercury and toxins (as opposed to farm raised shrimp, which is very high in toxins). So, make sure your shrimp is wild caught. (click photo below for recipe) [below] Mediterranean Chicken Kebabs The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": Love to see recipes using tried and true Olive Oil, as opposed to toxic, unhealthy oils, like Crisco, Wesson, Vegetable Oil, and my arch enemy, Toxic Poison Canola Oil…… (click photo below for recipe) [below] Grilled Chicken and Veggie Skewers The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": Make sure you try Pink Himalayan Salt as opposed to unhealthy table salt. Alternately, try Celtic Sea salt, but note many other sea salts are now processed as much as table salt. (click photo below for recipe) [below] Antipasto Skewers with Kale Pesto The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": These aren't technically meant for the grill, but you can throw them over some lemon slices on the grill for a little heat if desired. You can also replace the salami with free range turkey if desired. Also if doing them for a quick grill, that Halloumi cheese works better on the grill. ….about the outdoor kitchen and backyard

This statement making estate in Rye, New York features an expansive multi-purpose backyard that sits beneath a canopy of trees surrounded by a flourishing grassy landscape.

The outdoor kitchen extends off the back of the main house and is located on the top level of this multi-level landscaped backyard. Bookended by two pergolas, the galley style outdoor kitchen features a large dining table in the middle with seating for eight.

A built-in gas fireplace, adjacent to the table, is perfect for those chilled fall evenings extending time spent outdoors late into the season.

Central to the elongated kitchen sits the Kalamazoo Hybrid Fire Grill, this powerful piece of grilling equipment interchangeably cooks with gas, wood and charcoal offering the homeowners the ultimate versatility in cooking.

Surrounding the grill is an abundance of gray countertop offering ample space to prepare and cook meals with friends and family. Signature Series weather-tight cabinetry and refrigerator and freezer doors are built into stone masonry for convenient outdoor cooking
