[next 4 food photos below] Tomato Basil Chicken Skewers (more info further down)
Labor day weekend always means juuuuuust enough warm weather left to try out at least a few more skewer recipes that ran across and have been salivating over…..
…and I'm always "salivating" after my one guilty pleasure, that being custom outdoor kitchens.
This one designed by Brown Jordan Custom Outdoor Kitchens, makes an awesome photo shoot backdrop to these mouth-watering skewer recipes I ran across to save off to my "Cyber Cookbook"…
…you should know by now how I'm always trying to "set my scene" 🙂 ENJOY!!!
[3 food photos above and 1 below] Tomato Basil Chicken Skewers
The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": With Pasture Raised Chicken (You can find it at Whole Foods, I totally avoid conventional chickens), and organic ingredients, this recipe is five star healthy as it is!!!
(click any of 3 food photos above or 1 photo below for recipe)
[below] Lemon Garlic Grilled Shrimp
The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": Wild Caught Shrimp, though considered a "scavenger", is actually very low in mercury and the other toxins that plague some fish. However 85% of the shrimp sold in the USA is farmed and imported, and these imported/farmed shrimp are testing out to be high in toxins. Whole Foods often has Wild Caught Shrimp, you just have to ask or read the labels if frozen.

The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": Gotta take care of my vegetarian readers!!!! With organic ingredients, this recipe is five star healthy as it is!!!

[below] Hawaiian Chicken Kebabs
The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": Another recipe that calls for a store bought BBQ sauce, but, to take control over my ingredients, I like to make my own healthy tasty, homemade BBQ sauce

[below] Grilled Salmon, Potato, and Tomato Skewers
The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": The Recipe calls for Agave Syrup, which I avoid, because some evidence suggests that agave syrup is worse than High Fructose Corn Syrup. But I can easily replace the Agave with Real Molasses or more likely use a Honey and Dijon Mustard mix. My fav trick to cook fish on the grill is to cook fish on lemon slices so it doesn't stick to the grate.

[below] Rainbow Veggie Skewer "Medley"
The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": My life goal #5 is to pull my colorful veggies right out of the garden next to my outdoor kitchen and whip something like this up as a tapas appetizer right in front of my guests. But I digress……..Anyhooo, with organic ingredients, this recipe is five star healthy as it is!!!

[below] "Sticky" Honey Buffalo Chicken Fajita Kebabs
The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": Love the presentation with the spiral skewer!!! Another recipe calls for store bought BBQ sauce, but I can't ever find any, even the BBQ sauces Whole Foods, with 100% satisfactory ingredients, most have unhealthy sweeteners which defeat the whole purpose of healthy eating. I like to make my own healthy tasty, homemade BBQ sauce

[below] Vegetable and Mushroom Kabobs
The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": I'm finding vegetarian kabobs make great appetizers/starters. A simple solution of olive oil and fresh chopped garden herbs make a perfect brush over the open flame to get veggie skewers just right!!! With organic ingredients, this recipe is five star healthy as it is!!!

The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": With Pasture Raised Meat (You can find it at Whole Foods, I totally avoid conventional meat), and organic ingredients, this recipe is five star healthy as it is!!!

The Healthy Chef's "Healthy Morsel": As mentioned in the other shrimp recipe in this post, Wild Caught Shrimp, though considered a "scavenger", is actually very low in mercury and the other toxins that plague some fish. However 85% of the shrimp sold in the USA is farmed and imported, and these imported/farmed shrimp are testing out to be high in toxins. ….about the outdoor kitchen
This amazing outdoor kitchen in Woodridge, Connecticut is designed by Brown Jordan Luxury Outdoor Kitchens,
and features [from what I can see] Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet appliances……
….including the Kalamazoo Hybrid Fire Grill and Artisan Fire Pizza Oven.
There is [I think] a Kalamazoo keg tapper installed, to enjoy those "cold ones" one those hot days.
I don't have all the details, but the stainless steel cabinetry seems not to be Kalamazoo, but Perlick Outdoor Cabinetry

(see copyright disclaimer at bottom of post).
I'm in no way affiliated with Kalamazoo Gourmet, but plain and simple, they are the masters of the "Art Form" that is Gourmet Grilling. I love their "promo" video below, whether summertime barbecueing is winding up or winding down, the video always "mellows me out"….. ENJOY!!!
(and remember to try, if but just a little, at making your tasty grill treats a little healthier……..then you got the best of both worlds )
~stay healthy~
