Well, well……
I'm glad to see a few women taking me up on my offer to come in and write something for my
"Girl Talk" section. That "Girl Talk" section is for you guys (I mean "gals" 🙂 ), to come in share ideas, beauty and fitness tips, connect with each other in a mature, internet based health and wellness format. (I'll do the "photo shoot", its like my hobby…..)
Once I get that going full force, then I can finally focus on my "Men's Health" Section.
Anyone wanting to participate, shoot me an email at dxwallace@gmail.com and present your article idea.
Ms. Evalyn Michelle is gonna bring some of that "Girl Talk" in this article, so I'm gonna go check out the end of this baseball game, and let Evalyn take it away………….
Back to Basics!!!
(by guest writer Evalyn Michelle)
Yes, there really was a time when women used makeup to bring out their natural features, without carving out cheek bones using a contour palette.
Nowadays, with contouring, layers of foundation & eyeshadows you can’t see natural beauty shine thru.
Such heavy makeup causes a woman to look like a completely different person.
Just because someone on Youtube loves it and uses it basically as stage makeup to look perfect on camera does not mean you need to use it in real life people.
In the early 1900’s the term makeup still only belonged to the domain of stage actresses.
A woman could not be seen to be wearing anything other than her natural face!
Can you imagine that in this day in age?
Wouldn’t it be great if you could see someone’s natural face ?
………Fall in love with someone that embraced her natural beauty?
Wake up next to someone that looked the same as she did the night before at the club? Somebody tell me you get me!
By the 1920’s the greatest makeup artist to ever exist made his way into Hollywood.
His name was Max Factor, this man oozed glamour.
I mean, he really knew what he was doing & he knew exactly how to bring out women’s greatest features.
He definitely started the big change in the makeup industry & helped every woman learn to make her face up.
By the 1950s the makeup look was of glamour and the simple sophisticated look.
It was pure & natural, these women had zero fillers, no nose jobs, no contouring it was all authentic, organic and real beauty.
DIY 1950’s Makeup
Liquid foundation for a smooth even complexion
Concealer under the eyes
Powder to take away shine
Blush in peachy pastel colors
Eyes had minimal eyeshadow, eyeliner was used on top eyelid to make eyes appear bigger
& mascara was a staple
Women used pinks & reds for their lips
You see, with such little makeup these women looked sexy, secure & confident.
And you know what ? They were 🙂
