Not to get too philosophical, but the same Chinese symbol that represents "chaos and emergency" also represents "hope and opportunity".

Although it seems we're at a chaotic crisis point on planet Earth, looked at from another point of view, we are at a point of "opportunity" to begin living holistically and in tune with nature, to find ourselves again, if you feel me……

….And this crib in Kona Hawaii definitely expressed that principle.

A feeling of "back to nature", and a hint of looking forward, to living in a new "Golden Age"…….. what I call "Holistic Modernism".

…about the crib

This Hawaiian home by Olson Kundig is designed as several pavilions set in a lush tropical landscape.

Inspired by the vernacular architecture of the Polynesian Islands, the majority of the living spaces are on the upper floors, providing inhabitants with a prospect of the ocean and refuge from the elements.

On the ground floor, lava stone is used to visually anchor the buildings to the site and the broader landscape while referencing traditional island building.

The structures feature exposed timber frames. Movable wooden louver screens and six 6’ x 15’ operable roof flaps combine to form part of the natural ventilation and sun shading strategies.

This looks so beatuful!  I haven't been to Hawaii in years.  Makes me want to book a trip with my family.  I am going to try the salmon burgers.  They look delicious.

This post really woke me up this morning in a wonderful way.

Hi Donna,

At least you’ve been to Hawaii. LOL!!!  But I’m glad I was able to give you a bit of the best medicine in the universe, that being a little positive vibration and a positive energy.

I’m a not-for-profit Blog, and comments like these are my only payment.

Good luck with that burger recipe

I lived in Hawaii for a while and never got even close to anything like your Hawaiian BBQ Salmon Burger with Coconut Caramelized Pineapple. The picture is to die for (although I didn't) so I rushed into my kitchen and made them for dinner (even made the homemade BBQ sauce). What a melt-in-your-mouth treat. So many tropical flavors converging on my tongue in the same moment while looking at my picture of a hammock strung between two palm trees transported me back to Hawaii in an instant. Thanks a million Doug. It's so much cheaper than flying there. I'll be doing it again soon.

Red Alert to everyone out there: You've got to try this at least once. It will tweak your taste buds and make you smile like nothing else.
