The amazing Casa Kimball, in the Dominican Republic, is a "sturdy looking" villa, made from reinforced concrete and local coral stone.
It's not in the jungle, but on the oceanfront, on the outskirts of the North Shore town of Cabrera. I'm trying to set up my theme for the Bob Marley song, "Concrete Jungle", so work with me here!!! 🙂
The villa has three of my "House Hunter's" passions, a home that feels like a Fortress, a home that also feels like the modern version of a Castle (that's a "guy thing" f.y.i.), and a tropical paradise that sits on a Promontory (a promontory is a peninsula of land that majestically juts out into the water).
I could do some serious Caribbean Cookin' down there. I can feel that breeze kicking now…….yep 🙂.

The Healthy Chef's "healthy morsel": I totally avoid commercial beef and eat GRASS FED BEEF ONLY!!! (Whole Foods has grass Fed). AVOID COMMON SALT and try Pink Himalayan Salt which is unprocessed and unrefined, with all its nutrients in balance

…..about the crib
A New York based client commissioned Rangr Studio to design a Caribbean get-away large enough to accommodate his family and groups of friends, and to function as a luxury rental villa.
Located on the rural North coast of the Dominican Republic, the design sought to create a contemporary house within the basic construction means and materials locally available. The structures are reinforced concrete, clad with a local Coral stone. The windows, made by local carpenters with a dense hardwood, pivot on automobile wheel bearings.
The buildings are designed to protect from views of neighboring lots, heightening the experience of the vast horizon beyond. The interior spaces merge with exterior, and allow cooling ocean breezes under shade from the sun, eliminating the need for air conditioning.
A 45m long infinity edge pool creates a seamless edge of water in front of the ocean, hiding terraces at cliff edge that allow the experience of the ocean’s roar as waves break on the cliff face below.
