“Lively Up” those Boring Gluten Free Breads (and all breads) with an Herb and Olive Oil Dip

I wasn't "feeling" those "healthy breads" until I toasted some up and made this dip

I don't have any gluten issues, and I know bread has been eaten since the beginning of Civilization, and if there was any inherit issues with bread persay, it would have been filtered out of diets over thousands of years.

Nonetheless, although I am not gluten free, nor am I trying to go "cold turkey" and give up grains, mainly because I think "out of the box", like I use papaya enzymes to digest gluten (I make my own capsules), but, I do try to "take it easy" on the grains.

When that bread urge hits, I sometimes eat those gluten free breads, you know, the ones in the freezer at Whole Foods, but they are so hard and bland…….until I found how to "lively" them up, I toast them up in the oven, get it nice and hot (it somehow masks the natural hardness of the bread), and make a quick Olive Oil Based Dip…

Olive Oil and Herb Dip

1/4 teaspoon organic oregano (finely chopped fresh or dried)
1/4 teaspoon organic basil (finely chopped fresh or dried)
1/4 teaspoon organic rosemary (finely chopped fresh or dried)
1/4 teaspoon Pink Himalayan Salt (or alternately Celtic Sea Salt), or according to your taste
freshly ground organic black pepper
1 pinch organic red pepper flakes
2 cloves fresh organic garlic, minced
1/4 cup prganic extra virgin olive oil

Directions

1. In a small bowl, mix together the dry spices. Add crushed garlic, stirring to combine and moisten the herbs.
2. Transfer herb mixture to a small dish or bowl. Pour olive oil over herb mixture.
3. Serve with fresh bread (the warmer the better)

….obviously one can substitute, mix and match, and play around with herbs and spices of choice, the fresh picked herbs make this a true "simple treat", my body seems to rejoice over the positive "vibration"

I don't give out very much advice on eating bread and grains, except that I will get these frozen loaves of "artsy fartsy" gluten free bread sometimes, or buy other quality breads with healthy oils, and when out at a restaurant, just pop in my mouth one of my papaya enzyme capsules to digest gluten.

Since bread is not a daily thing for me, I don't feel the need to give them up right now, unless my body and research tell me to do so. But this Olive Oil dip allows me to enjoy those gluten free breads, so now I got all my bases covered……………..

As a final note as I wrote in my article "My Top 10 Dietary Changes to lose Bodyfat, Cellulite, and Weight", don't be afraid of fats from healthy sources, they are not only necessary, but IMPERATIVE to overall health and wellness.

As I say in that posting, if you switch to Olive Oil and Coconut Oil as your only oils, you find that you will shed some unwanted pounds. So, these kind of treats are not only "delish", but have enormous health benefits………the best of both worlds 🙂
