“Inner Strength”: Amna Al Haddad “Raises the Bar”

Amna Al Haddad, 27 years old in 2017,  is a former journalist, now professional and Olympic weightlifter from the United Arab Emirates.

She is signed to the Nike Women's Team, as Nike continues to promote and celebrate women's athletics.

As Amna states in that first video I posted below, "There's there's a lot going on under the Hijab". I found many of her comments and quotes in the videos below quite powerful and inspirational……

….Amna has endless quotes, and I figured posting a few of Amna's comments and quotes amongst these photos is all that is needed for an amazing and inspirational Sports Story. ENJOY!!!!

"When I first Started my fitness journey, I was an unhappy person. I wanted to make a change……."

"….I was like, Amna you can do much more than this, you can be better than this, and that's when things kinda changed for me"

"I don't normally show all aspects of my personality, but like I keep saying, there's a lot going on under the Hijab"

"I've always been a 'Go-Getter'…….if I put a goal ahead of myself,  I want to see it through"

"I'm someone who broke a lot of barriers for Muslim Women……."

"I realized I have a confident spirit in me….."

"There's a lot of resistance, a lot of rejection……"

"….but when that is happening, you know you are tapping on something that is untouched, and that is where you start to pave a path for others"

"That's what pushes me……"

"It doesn't matter how old you are, if you love your sport, you're never too late to set your goals in life"

"I'm not a quitter……"

"I was not given the tools and the circumstances, I just created it, and I made it happen……"

"The most important thing to do……..is take action"

"Be who you wanna be, you just have to work on you…….and you only"

"Live a life that you are proud of, not one that impresses others……"

"People will always have an opinion about what you do……."

"….don't let that bother you, it is your life, you can do whatever you want"
